What Discipleship Entails
The Discipleship Ministry at First Miami Presbyterian Church exists for the purpose of growing together in our faith. We strive to offer support to one another by learning about God more deeply, enjoying community together, and supporting one another in life.
Discipleship is a lifelong journey, and we believe everyone has a place to grow, learn, and participate in the life of the church. Through ministries for children, youth, and adults, as well as opportunities for study, fellowship, and meaningful faith milestones, we seek to create welcoming spaces where individuals and families can deepen their relationship with God and one another.

MINISTRY OVERVIEW
Children's Ministry
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
During the church services on Sundays, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary kids up to 5th Grade are invited to be part of our dynamic, Bible-based programs. These age groups are divided into 3 classrooms: Toddlers, K-2nd Grade and 3-5th Grade. To gain access to Kids’ Church, enter through the church’s front entrance to the main lobby, proceeding to the check-in station by going up the flight of stairs on the right or left.
Our Kids’ Church programs are led by dedicated staff with backgrounds in education and psychology, creating a nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and explore their faith. Every member of our children’s ministry team is Safe Gatherings certified and committed to providing a safe, caring, and engaging experience for every child.

Youth Group Ministry

Calling all middle school and high school students! Join the Youth Group on Sundays at 6 pm at First Miami Presbyterian Church, located at 609 Brickell Avenue. Membership
Becoming a member is an opportunity to deepen your connection with the First Miami community. Through conversations with our pastor and a short series of gatherings, you'll learn more about our mission, values, and life together as a church before making this commitment.
Baptism
We welcome baptisms for people of all ages during any worship service, whether you are being baptized for the first time or participating in a service of reaffirmation of faith
First Informed Communion
First Informed Communion prepares children and their parents to better understand the meaning of the Lord's Supper through a series of engaging lessons and conversations. Upon completing the program, children are welcomed and celebrated by the congregation as they begin participating more fully in Communion.
Confirmation
Confirmation is a season of learning, reflection, and spiritual growth for students who are ready to explore their faith more deeply. Through study, discussion, and mentorship, participants have the opportunity to affirm their faith for themselves and become more actively engaged in the life of the church.
Marriage
Marriage is a sacred covenant in which two people commit their lives to one another before God, family, and the church community. Our team is honored to walk with couples through preparation, counseling, and the celebration of their wedding day.
